About Us
Top Notch Driving Academy is about bringing to life the unique and thrilling experience of driving. With us driving lessons will always be fun and exciting,
and we try our best to make sure that you are taught to drive in a controlled and safe vehicle at every lesson. At our Driving Academy we offer both Manual and Automatic driving tuition.
With our distinct sessions, there is something for everyone to learn. Whether you’ve never driven a car before or you need to freshen up your

What do you need to do to switch with us today?
You must contact us about the request of the change, and after we explain everything to you, rest assured you can leave it to us. Kindly note that for the change of motoring school to be performed a fee must be paid to Top Notch Driving Academy, which is required for the insurance.
Do you offer both Manual and Automatic car lessons?
Yes we do, we offer to teach you on either Manual or Automatic, the choice is yours.

What do you need to do to obtain a Driving Licence?
To obtain a Driving Licence you must take a theory test and a practical test. You must then pay the Driving Licence fee to Transport Malta to be issued your valid Driving Licence.
How much time do practical exams generally take?
This depends, because the examiner decides the duration of the test. On average the practical test takes you 30 minutes to complete.
How much does Top Notch Driving Academy charge for lessons?
Lesson fees for Manual are €20 for 1 hour and €30 for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Please note that fees will apply if a student does not cancel their appointment 4 hours before the lesson.
What are the other costs which you will need to cover?
First on Whatsapp, you will need to send Herman Caruana a photo of your ID Card (both from the front and back), a portait photo, and to pay a fee of €90 to Top Notch Driving Academy to cover the costs to obtain your complusory student permit from Transport Malta and to have an insurance coverage in case of an accident. With both of these you will then be able to drive with us.
When you are ready to take the tests you will first need to pass the theory test and only then you will be eligible to sit for the practical test.
Whilst taking your theory test, you have the opportunity to request for a translator to sit with you at the exam at a cost of €45, however Maltese and English are both free. A translator request is available for Maltese, English, Arabic, Bosnian, Chinese, Croatian, Hindi, Italian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu.
When you are ready to sit for the practical test you will be required to pay a fee of €95 to Top Notch Driving Academy or €120 if it is on a Saturday, in order for us to apply for your test.
How much will the practical test cost you on Saturdays?
The price for a test on Saturdays is higher and will cost you €120 instead of the usual cost.
